Degroof Petercam advises Brachot-Hermant in its acquisition of the Beltrami group
November 14, 2017
Degroof Petercam assists Brachot-Hermant, an international producer and wholesaler of natural stone, ceramics and composites, in its acquisition of the Beltrami Group, an international wholesaler in natural stone with company sites in Belgium (Harelbeke and Brugge), the UK and France.
Beltrami and Brachot-Hermant are both 100% family-held businesses. Both companies are active in the extraction, import, production and distribution of natural stone tiles and slabs. Brachot-Hermant was founded in 1901 and is still entirely in the hands of the Van Overberghe family. Beltrami was founded in 1986 by the Callewier family, which is now stepping out of the capital and transferring all shares to Brachot-Hermant. With the transfer of the Beltrami Group, Brachot-Hermant will have a fully vertically-integrated company that is good for a consolidated annual turnover of 140 million EUR and 550 employees.
The transfer promises to produce a stronger market position and an increase in scale both for Beltrami and Stoneasy and for Brachot. This attests to the continuity and on-going consolidation taking place in the natural stone and construction sector.
The corporate finance team of Degroof Petercam assisted Brachot-Hermant in the structuring, negotiation and execution of the transaction. It is the third time that Degroof Petercam assists the Brachot group in the realization of an acquisition, after having advised on two earlier takeovers in 2013.
