In particular, Bank Degroof Petercam achieved 33 liquidity contracts in 2015, making it by far the most significant player in Belgium. Under such contracts the bank commits to supporting listed companies in three ways by:
- animating a company’s stock exchange listing by ensuring regular quotations (at opening, during the stock exchange session and at closure of the market) and by reducing the spread between bid and offer prices;
- actively following the company by publishing financial analyses, in particular on important events in its development (such as strategy, investments and full-year, half-year and quarterly, results);
- supporting the company in its relationships with shareholders and bondholders. Each year Bank Degroof Petercam organizes more than one thousand meetings between listed companies and institutional investors.
Gautier Bataille, Head of Capital Markets, said: “This is the sixth time in a row that our institution has received this award. We are delighted with this returning recognition because it confirms our strong commitment to listed companies as well as the trust that we have established among institutional investors worldwide.”
