Private Placement Monitor (PPM) has released its Private Placement League Tables for 2016, in collaboration with Standard and Poor’s (S&P) Rating Services. Dealogic also published its 2016 Private Placement Review.
The private debt placement market in Europe recorded a decrease in 2016. Both PPM and Dealogic observed a fall of more than 20% in number of transactions and of respectively 37% and 38% in corresponding value.
Degroof Petercam is highly ranked in both league tables. Based on the number of transactions in the PPM league tables, Degroof Petercam ranks 3rd in the Benelux and in Europe and 4th in France. Based on the Dealogic ranking in value, Degroof Petercam ranks 5th in Europe.
Alexis Meeùs, Head of Corporate Finance: “Despite a lower level of debt capital market activity in 2016, European mid-size companies reiterated their trust towards Degroof Petercam which successfully assisted them to gain access to the competitive private debt market”.
Gautier Bataille, Head of Financial Markets: ”These top positions acknowledge our expertise in debt capital market advisory and placement capacity in Europe, and confirm to our clients that we are the leading independent reference partner for their capital markets transactions”.
